How we celebrated America

This Fourth of July, SMS T2 celebrated from every corner of the nation.

At home, Simi, Andy, Sophie and Ben hosted a rollerski expo for Stratton Mountain Resort. The day consisted of trick skiing, relays and top of the line announcing by our very own John Ogden. The expo gave us the opportunity to showcase what we do for the folks in the community who do not regularly engage in the cross country ski scene, and it was a hit!

Farther East in America, Maine, the Annies Hart and Pokorny ran in the LL Bean Fourth of July 10K. It was hot and muggy, but the Annies managed to execute Ben True’s dorsi flex plan and take first and second in their age group (Annie got first, tenth overall for women, while Annie got second).

The western corners of our great nation were stationed by Erika and Jessie. Erika celebrated her father’s wedding in Kauai, where she got to play with turtles, hike incredible peaks and rest up for the next two weeks of big training in Alaska for the US Ski Team’s women’s camp.

Jessie decided to head to AK early to spend time with her Alaskan USST teammates. After watching and cheering at the mountain marathon, she spent time exploring the mountains and beaches around Anchorage.

The next three weeks are full of big training and adventure for all of us, stay tuned for all that we’re been up to!

We hope you had a beautiful Independence Day!
